The Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden

More thrilling than ever, the 14th annual Orchid Show transports visitors on a journey through orchid collecting history, each moment playing out against a stunning backdrop of thousands of orchids. Discover the far-flung adventures of orchid hunters swept up in 19th-century "orchidelirium," when explorers risked life and limb to secure these captivating flowers from jungles around the world. Dance performances, a poetry reading, orchid care demonstrations, and shopping fill the daylight hours, while the return of the popular Orchid Evenings ensures many memorable celebrations after the sun has set. A Special JOBIM Birthday Celebration Brunch and 50 year anniversary of "The Girl from Ipanema"

Vocalist Julie Eigenberg - known to her fans as Julie E. - & Manhattan Transfer's pianist Yaron Gershovsky with World Guitar Master Andres Laprida team up to pay tribute to Brazilian jazz legend Tom Jobim, king of the bossa nova and Grammy-winning composer of favorites like "The Girl From Ipanema."

The Grammy-winning Gershovsky is not only the keyboardist for the world-renowned vocal group, but he's also their musical director and arranger, while Julie E. co-wrote one of the harmonizers' biggest hits, "Why Not!". Her own sound is a smooth mix of pop and Latin, but she also displays a soulful command of Brazilian Jazz.

Among the confirmed attendees is Emmy-winning TV personality and entrepreneur, Yue-Sai Kan.

Thunderbird American Indian Dancers in Concert

Established in 1963, the Thunderbird Dancers are New York's oldest dance troupe established by volunteers to preserve the songs and dances of their ancestors.

Dancers wear traditional clothing and utilize instruments reflecting the multi-tribal background of the performers of the Iroquois, Northeast Woodlands and Southwest tribes and the Great Plains people.
